The Last Lawman By Peter Brandvold

Sure, Spurr will retire someday… when the outlaws do.

Federal Deputy Marshal Spurr Morgan may be an old dog in the business of tracking down desperados, but where his body may fail him, his instincts remain unmatched. Spurr has his sights set on Clell Stanhope, the notorious leader of a gang called the Vultures. Not only has Clell managed to dodge the law, but he’s littered his trail with dozens of innocent men, women and children…

Spurr Morgan has met his fair share of murderers, but this vulture is the most brutally clever of the breed. Tracking him down requires as much cunning as it does hot lead. After Clell lures every last tin star into his bloody trap, Spurr thinks he may be the last man standing. That is until a half-breed by the name of Yakima Henry offers his services… The Last Lawman

First Western I've ever read - what a shame it's taken so long, this was brilliant!! Starts off amazing and continues throughout. It's one of those books you don't want to put done. Very well written and to the point. I definitely look forward to reading more by Brandvold.

This is about a Marshal who really should be retired but is pulling through one last job going after a notorious gang, the Vultures. The Last Lawman Spurred

One of the best, could not put it down.
Don't know how Mr.Brandon continues to write award winning stories like this one but he does . Thank you Sir, looking forward to the next book.
9780425250501 I was first introduced to Spur Morgan while reading Brandvolds novel “CUNNO MASSEY”. I was impressed with this character because he reminds me of Rooster Cogburn in the movie True Grit, although Spur is a tougher, seasoned character with a heart condition... An excellent western where the bad guys are really, really ruthless and the good guys are nearly as bad, but for a slight seasoning of righteousness.
RECOMMENDED FOR THE WESTERN ENTHUSIAST. 0425250504 A The Last Lawman
