Dear Taylor (Letters to War, #1) By Eija Jimenez

Beautiful story about a Latina teacher and a black soldier who start a friendship that becomes a real love story. I really enjoyed this book and I couldn't put down. The story between Daniela and Taylor is built at a slow pace, so you can see how their relationship is changing and the feelings become stronger. I started reading the sequel and I hope that it will be the same or maybe better! English This book throws me all over the place! Amazing. Bonus points for so many Characters of Color. Can't wait for the sequel. Read in a day. Make me cry my life. http://kambookreview.over-blog.com/de... 302 4.5 Stars rounded up to 5 Stars I really enjoyed this book. It is the story of Taylor Phillips, a soldier in Afghanistan with whom High School teacher, Daniella Melo begins a friendship via letters. Daniella gives an assignment to her students to become pen pals with soldiers. There is a name leftover so she decides to write to Pvt. Phillips. And so begins a close friendship between...

Definitely Dead (Maya Barton, #1) By Kate Bendelow

Image
This is a truly excellent debut novel. There is no question in my mind that it fully deserves my five-star rating. From start to finish, the pace never lets up. As you would expect from a writer who is a serving CSI, the authenticity is exceptional. Not only does that come through in the characters in the SOCO team and the situations in which they find themselves, but Kate Bendelow has obviously researched the police procedural side of the story too. She even manages to capture perfectly the point of view of a young person of mixed race who is finding her feet in modern society. The story opens with main character, Maya, a new CSI on her way to the scene of her first dead body. Although she is accompanied by a very experienced CSI, she makes an embarrassing yet comical, rookie error which draws much mirth from her colleagues when she returns to base. But she can take it. She realises that it is all part of the job. Not being able draw some humour from situations that arise in her chos...

Naked Brunch By Sparkle Hayter

Annie Engel hasn’t been feeling herself lately. With good reason. A mousy secretary by day, she’s been transforming into a werewolf at night. In the morning, she’s not quite sure what she’s been up to, but she knows she’d like to do it again. She soon discovers that her odd dreams and strange hangovers are actually the remnants of a night out on the prowl. But Annie’s predatory activities have not gone unnoticed, and soon she is being pursued by one hapless reporter, a psychiatrist who wants to save her from her beastly impulses, and another (guy) werewolf who captures her heart. Who is a nice werewolf to trust? Get ready for a manic, madcap chase through the dank underbelly of the big city, a place where no one seems to sleep and the scents of fear and desire are always in the air. Naked Brunch This was a werewolf book, a romance book, and full of drama. I liked the idea of werewolves as medical or scientific phenomenon as opposed to supernatural or paranormal. I liked r...

Roberts Rules of Order By one-piece-live-action76.blogspot.com

Simply the best, professional and non credentialed layman's resource for meeting structure, control, and management. With this and a one page cheat sheet, anyone can be an effective chairman or parliamentarian. one-piece-live-action76.blogspot.com This review is about the kindle edition first and general about the book later The kindle edition is ncomplete i guess some introduction is missing. I am not even sure which version on the rules this is (gibven the name on the cover it should be the 7th (1970) or later one (the 7th was the first newly revised version) but how can i be sure? Some sections have asterisks but what does that mean? also the index is missing so finding he right spot is sometimes difficuld (or link sections but that is not done either) also the references are missing. The book itself is difficult. I guess it pays to much attention to its (glorious) history, unneeded references to institutions that just increase text and reduce readability. some sections could b...
