The kindle edition is ncomplete i guess some introduction is missing.
I am not even sure which version on the rules this is (gibven the name on the cover it should be the 7th (1970) or later one (the 7th was the first newly revised version) but how can i be sure?
Some sections have asterisks but what does that mean?
also the index is missing so finding he right spot is sometimes difficuld (or link sections but that is not done either)
also the references are missing.

The book itself is difficult. I guess it pays to much attention to its (glorious) history, unneeded references to institutions that just increase text and reduce readability. some sections could better readable when rewritten but I guess here history takes its toll.

Also it contains lot of american english expressions for granted. an plain english (not british english) version would be better a small book that compacts everything you need to know about Roberts Rules.
I attended meetings and easily it fit into my side jacket pocket for easy reference. 0688053068 Roberts Rules have been the backstay of many meetings, those who have absorbed it are likely to be able to be effective i meetings.
Down loaded to Kindle it becomes a simple reference book on meeting procedure. I would recommend this book for any one who spends time lots of meetings that seem to ramble on for ever as it gives ideas on how to bring people back to the main point. womens This Kindle version of Robert's Rules of Order lacks a copyright page and an edition page necessary to authenticate it as the authoritative version for use at a meeting. Until these issues are corrected, purchase is a waste. Each edition brings changes and no one wants to stand up to argue a point only to have someone else observe aloud that you haven't bothered reading the most recent edition which changed the rule governing your argument or point. It is very frustrating when RRO is NOT used in meetings. Absolutely nothing can get done, for one very obvious reason: if the Association doesn't understand how important it is to utilize Robert's, they certainly don't understand their own Bylaws/governing documents, or the duties of their respective office.
If you live in a planned community do yourself a big favor and get this book. It is empowering and can help you reign in an out of control Board.
Also, it's very interesting to go to a government meeting (County Commissioners, etc) and see the chairperson use the procedures detailed in RRO, from the opening prayer and pledge, through the Agenda, etc..

This is the tenth edition, I have it and recently bought the 11th. womens I wanted the whole thing, the complete book, but this is the pocket guide. If you look hard enough on the web page for this item, you will see that it is the Pocket Manual of Rules of Order for Deliberative Assemblies. I didn't look hard enough before I bought it, but I should have figured the entire book wouldn't be available on Kindle for $0.99 when the paperback is $12. If it was the whole book for Kindle it would have been about $10! Fortunately, I figured it out before my 7 days were up and I was able to return it. This is NOT the most recent 11th edition. It is the ninth and the contents, format, pages, etc. are completely different. So when you are in a meeting with that one snotty person that likes to quote Roberts and has the paperback edition, they will be able to find stuff faster than you AND they will say that their version rules because it is the most recent.
