Features ↠ Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk PDF by Ì Legs McNeil eBook or Kindle ePUB free

Funny, insightful, moving and frightening this book has it all. Legs McNeil is a master of this art form, and here he is at the top of his game. He brings the individuals to life, he brings passion and heart to their movement and makes the reader feel connected and involved. I cannot recommend this book highly enough, simply superb! y 1 más , Kindle, Pasta dura, Pasta blanda A story that starts with gross intrigue, treks across both fascination & despair, and finishes with a bittersweet aftertaste & a falcon punch to the heart. It's a window of a moment in time, filled with wondrous (& equally repulsive) characters, who lived & breathed amongst each other in the pursuit of excess and for many, paid the ultimate price. This is not just a book on punk. It's one that captures something so incredibly human, stretching end to end on the emotional spectrum, that it will absolutely consume you & linger far beyond the last page. y 1 más , Kindle, Pasta dura, Pasta blanda
Once I'd got past the first few chapters covering the 60's (which I found pretty tedious) and actually got into the punk stuff I really enjoyed this great to have the people who were there actually telling the story in their own words. Definitely a must read for any 70's punk fan as it gives you the warts and all narrative of one of the most exciting music genres. Some of it is downright depressing the constant drug theme running throughout the book is a bit of a downer, but other bits are hilarious, enlightening and entertaining. Glad I bought it. y 1 más , Kindle, Pasta dura, Pasta blanda This is outrageous, how the hell did I go for so long without reading this? This is just essential. I have no hesitation recommending this to anyone into Velvets, Stooges, MC5, Patti Smith and Television. Hilarious. I love the music, so I thought this would bea good read. However it transpires that most of the people concerned were actually really boring people. How many times can you read about idiots shooting up heroin without nodding off yourself?
